Once upon a time I used to be a scientist. This means I probably like evidence and data. I was never very good at statistics though but no matter.
Here is the page I add statistics that have helped me. (I will add to them as I find out more!).
Of first time mothers- less than 50% will have an intervention free birth. Approx 25% will have an assisted delivery -Forceps/ventouse and approx 25% will have a C-section (Emergency or Elective). That means 1/2 new mothers can’t get their babies out without assistance like me.
The proportion of women suffering forms of PTSD following childbirth is approximately 10%. That is 1 in 10 women like me.
